Rachel Brosnahan hit the Miu Miu red carpet at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards.
She chatted with Melvin Robert from “Extra” about taking on the role of Lois Lane on the other side of David Corenswet in the new “Superman” film.
Starr recalled the moment when James Gunn told her he was “completely distrustful.”
“I was in the bathroom at Alizzia in New York, and my phone started ringing. I said, ‘James Gunn.’ I spend quite a lot of time processing. It’s not until you actually get on set and start filming. ”
Melvin asked, “Did you feel responsibility, duty, or anxiety?”
She said, “I hate to even make this comparison, but I have a theatrical background, and it’s because these iconic roles are by new actors and again and again Not the same as Shakespeare who will take over I stand on the shoulders of the giants in this part, hopefully I can be proud of them and I am proud of all my fans.
Brosnahan said the film is something fans really need right now. There is a lot of darkness and these kinds of movies – just as people sometimes get ragged in these superhero movies, they bring joy to people.
“They make them happy, they invite people into fantasies where good people beat bad people, and we need a little more where courage wins and pursuit of truth and justice is the American way. I think he is, and I look forward to sharing it with the audience, especially at this moment.”
