A few weeks ago, the Washington Nationals placed CJ Abrams in IL with a hip flexor injury. Now, the Nationals carry a short stop. When CJ returns, Trey Lipscomb is sent back to Triple-A.
I’ve created the next roster movement.
-CJ Abrams has returned from 10 days of IL
– Triple A Rochester has been selected with options– Washington Nationals (@nationals) April 24, 2025
Abrams was off to a hot start .874 ops Four home runs with 41 bats. He also showed off the speed of his signature, stealing four times without being caught. This will extend the Nationals lineup and pose more threats to the team.
One thing that interests me is where he hits. It will probably be a leadoff, but James Wood is starting out at the leadoff spot and I like the Wood look in that role. Wood has four home runs as a leadoff man in his seven games.
Having multiple players you love in a leadoff spot is a luxury issue and luxury for the nation. NAT violations are really inconsistent without CJ.
From game to game, or from inning to inning, you don’t know what you’re trying to get. The NAT attack takes place in an extended lull before it explodes out of nowhere. Hopefully, having a bat like CJ helps.
They are excellent defenders, but seeing Jacob Young and Nasimnunes in 8 holes and 9 holes was not a great watch. The best you could expect was the weak single, but it was mostly a strikeout or tupper.
Abrams poses another threat to the NATS lineup. Welcome to CJ!
