Let’s start with device and account settings.
Google accounts are associated with many apps and services, so they’re a great place to start.
Location history
Location History saves your location wherever you take your phone. It’s off by default, but you may have forgotten to turn it on. no problem. Here’s how to turn it off:
- Sign in to your account at myaccount.google.com Or via the Google app.
- go to data privacy > Location history.
- tap or click erase and confirmation your choice.
- Make sure auto-delete is on while you’re here upon.

Location sharing
Location sharing allows you to share your location with anyone you choose. You may be using this setting for someone you love, but be sure to check.

Location tracking on iPhone
Location Services has two parts: a global setting to stop sharing your location with Apple, and an individual setting for each app you have installed on your iPhone.

- go to setting > Privacy and security > location services.
- From here you have the option to switch off Fully location-based services.
- Or turn off location services for individual apps by scrolling down the list and tapping the app you want to change.
Location sharing
Location sharing allows you to share your location with family and friends in Messages, Find, and other services. See who is watching.
- go to setting > Privacy and security > location services > share my location.
- If you’ve shared your location with someone, you’ll see their name here.
- switch off Share your location if you choose.

Location tracking on Android smartphones
Choose to turn off location tracking entirely or tweak settings for each app.
- go to setting > position and switch off Use location information.
- If you left the setting turned on, scroll down and tap each app to change the setting.
Share your location on Google Maps
You may have shared your location with friends and family through Google Maps. Here’s how to check it.
- open the Google Maps app to tap profile.
- Tap Location sharing. If you haven’t shared your location with anyone, you don’t need to do anything else.

You can turn off location services entirely on your Windows PC or individual apps.
- go to start > setting > privacy > position.

Here’s how to change your Mac’s location services:
- going to apple menu > System setting > Privacy and security > location services.
- switch off location services.
