Pope Francis, 88, died Monday after fighting pneumonia, but now the cause of his death is release.
According to the Vatican, “Stroke has been identified as the cause of Pope Francis’ death, followed by coma and irreversible cardiac disruption.”
The Vatican website statement continued. “According to the medical report, the Pope had a past history of acute respiratory failure caused by multimicrobial bilateral pneumonia, multiple bronchial ectases, hypertension, and type II diabetes.”
“His death was confirmed through electrocardiogram tanatography,” the statement added.

Dr Andrea Arkangeri, Director of Health and Health, Vatican City, has announced the official accreditation.
The Vatican previously announced that Pope Francis had died at his residence in Casa Santa Malta, Vatican.
“With my beloved brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow, we must announce the death of our holy father, Francis. This morning, at 7:35, the Bishop of Rome returned to his father’s house,” Kevin Farrell said in a statement.
The Cardinal stated, “His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and his church. He taught us to live the values of the gospel with faithfulness, courage and universal love, especially in support of the poorest and marginalized people.
The news comes after the Pope was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia in February and was hospitalized for 38 days. He had been released ever since.

According to the Vatican, Pope Francis suffered from a severe respiratory infection in the 1950s and removed a portion of one lung. He fought “respiratory illness attacks” for the rest of his life.
