Columbia, Missouri (KMIZ)
Police tape was put up around Breaktime at Business Loop 70 and Garth Avenue in Columbia on Thursday following the assault.
A Columbia police officer on the scene said police were called to a report of an assault. The suspect was taken into custody and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, officers said.
Columbia Police spokesman Brian McNeill said two men were fighting in a gas station parking lot when a woman “got caught up in it” and was stabbed with a knife. McNeill said the woman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Police were called to the scene at 6:48 p.m.
Six Columbia Police Department officers, one sheriff’s deputy, and one police dog were on scene. The entire gas station was roped off. Members of the Columbia Fire Department later arrived on scene and used a raider to search the roof for evidence. Investigators were then seen searching through nearby bushes and trash cans on the property.
