Pauly Shore is showing his love for the late Richard Simmons.
The 56-year-old comedian and actor posted a tribute to the famous fitness guru on Instagram following Simmons’ passing. He died Saturday at age 76. At home in Los Angeles.
“Like all of you, I just heard the news that the beautiful Richard Simmons has passed away. May he rest in peace in heaven,” Shore said. I wrote in a post on SaturdayAlong with a photo of Simmons.
“Please give big hugs and kisses to your mom, Mitchie, and your dad, Sammy. Richard, you are one of a kind. Amazing life, amazing story,” he added. “They ripped the Dolphins’ shorts when they made you.”
Simmons was found dead at his home, and authorities said his death appeared to be from “natural causes.”
Shore, who will play the late fitness instructor in an upcoming biopic, had been at crossroads with Simmons over the project before his death. “Court Jester“, The short film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
In a Facebook post that month, Simmons slammed the film.
“Hey everyone! You may have heard that a movie may be being made about Pauly Shore and me. I have never given permission for this movie so don’t believe everything you read,” Simmons wrote in a Jan. 17 post. Facebook post.

“I just read that some random guy is writing a biopic about me starring Pauly Shore. I have not approved the movie,” he wrote. “I am in negotiations with a major studio and am getting some help to make my own biopic. Stay tuned for the movie.”
Despite Simmons’ objections, Shore responded to the issues surrounding the fitness coach’s biopic, saying his accusations made him “Crying all night.”
