After appearing to skip the lunch money, the pastor used a “thick envelope of cash” to pay for it, but viewers of a viral TikTok video suspected it was tithes from a church service. Ta.

In the viral video posted, tick tock, user Lari (@girllariri) said that after church service on Sunday, she teamed up with a colleague to eat at a table with 20 guests. Sitting on half of her table was a “group pastor,” she explained in the video. He took his check and the checks from the other tables, which totaled about $100.

“Everyone at his table is giving out cash and I’m still waiting for him,” Lari said in the video, which has been viewed more than 16,100 times since it was first posted on December 11. “I’m doing it,” he explained. The pastor told her she was ready. However, when I checked it, it was empty.

“He helps me look for money,” Lari said, describing how he searched tables and floors for money but couldn’t find it. “I go get the server who was helping the other half. When she comes back with me, he’s like, ‘Oh, no one picked up my tab?’ .”

In fact, it was. Lari wondered how someone could have picked up the pastor’s table if he had picked up both the pastor’s table and the table next to him. “I think he’s on the phone with someone and he’s probably trying to figure it out and I’m just standing there waiting and I don’t really know what to do,” she said on TikTok Told. “At this point it just looked like he was trying to skip the check.”

He and the rest of the table got up and walked away from her and her colleague, at which point Lali went to find the manager. The check was ultimately paid with money from a stuffed envelope, which Lari and viewers believe was filled with church tithes collected from previous services. .

“I can’t say for sure,” Lari added before ending the video. “But I’m pretty sure.”

“He did all that to make sure everyone was gone and he didn’t want to be seen doing it. has a big story about it,” user @slightmelfunction speculated.

“Sounds like every pastor I’ve ever known. He didn’t pray enough to build a 30,000 square foot mansion,” another user joked.

Other ministers shared stories about waiting on church crowds. “I used to wait tables when there was still a smoking section, but Sundays were the worst! Either there were people in the church who had already given all their money to the Lord, or there were empty seats before the sinners were still asleep. Either there was a compartment,” one person wrote.

“I swear they brought the worst people to Sunday brunch. You’re looking down their noses because you’re doing your job,” another recalled.
