KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The NFL Draft is beginning to release details of plans to control traffic and move hundreds of thousands of people around downtown Kansas City and the Union Station area.

One thing to remember is that after April 26th, the Union Station streetcar stop will be closed to all passengers. All other tram stops are open as usual.

Main fan inlet

For fans heading into the NFL Draft, the main entrance is at the intersection of Wyandot Street and Memorial Drive. The location is south of the National World War I Museum and Memorial.

park and walk

There are plenty of parking lots in the downtown and river market areas. Fans can park in these parking lots and take his KC trams for free.

Parking is also available at the Crossroads Arts District, Central Business District, Crown Center, Westport and Country Club Plaza.

Main Street south of 20th Street is closed to traffic and pedestrians during the NFL Draft. Pedestrians must use the main street to access the draft.

Park & ​​Ride

Fans wishing to take advantage of this free parking and shuttle to Union Station must pre-register to board the shuttle. Ticket registration can be done online. Visit kc.com.

A shuttle will run from the garage to Summit Street, where fans will be dropped off from the Entry 2 draft and picked up.

This is the only park and ride option.

Fans can also park for free at Kansas City’s West Bottoms Garage near Hivie Arena from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29.

Please note that vehicles must park within the white painted lines when along the KC Streetcar route.

All parts of the vehicle, including the side mirrors, must be inside the white line.

Vehicles not parked within the line may be damaged or towed.

KC Tram Timetable

To ease congestion, fans heading to the NFL Draft will be KC Tram.

The free option will operate with the following extended hours during the event period.

  • Thursday, April 27th
  • Friday, April 28th
  • Saturday, April 29th

The Union Station streetcar stop will be closed to all passengers starting Wednesday, April 26.

The nearest stop to Union Station is 19th and Main at the intersection. Fans are asked to take the tram to that stop and walk to Wyandot Street and Memorial Drive to access the NFL Draft Experience.

Organizers say it takes about 15 minutes to walk from the intersection to Union Station.

KC bus to ride

Kansas City bus service is also always available free of charge.

The MAX line is the city’s rapid transit line from downtown to Union Station, the venue for the 2023 NFL Draft.

The MAX line runs along Penn Valley Drive.

Fans should exit the bus at the 29th Street stop. From there, it’s a 5-minute walk to Main Entry 1 for access to the 2023 draft.

Options like Uber and Lyft also run during the NFL Draft.

Simply enter “National World War I Museum and Memorial” as your destination. Your driver will drop you off at the designated rideshare drop-off zone. From there follow signs to main entry 1.

According to the organizers, it’s about a 10 minute walk.

If you need help entering the 2023 NFL Draft as presented by the Bud Light site, enter at Entry 3 on East Pershing Rd. Outside The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center.
