Netflix’s One Piece has confirmed three more actors to play important roles in season 2, one of which is Nefertari Cobra. As the king of Alabasta and the father of Princess Vivi, Cobra plays a pivotal role in the show’s storyline. Manga readers will know that his tenacity led to the disbandment of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Furthermore, his sacrifice helped Sabo (Luffy’s adopted brother) escape.

On Thursday, Netflix’s One Piece Instagram confirmed the face of Cobra, who will be played by actor Sendhil Ramamurthy. “At the heart of Alabasta, a desert kingdom roiled by rebellion and riddled with secrets, stands a king like no other. Meet Nefertari Cobra, a pillar of integrity in a kingdom at a crossroads,” the announcement read.

This comes just a day after Katey Sagal of “Sons of Anarchy” fame was revealed to be Dr. Kureha, an elderly doctor who works on Drum Island and is also known as “The Witch.” She becomes Tony Tony Chopper’s adoptive mother and mentor after the death of his father figure, Dr. Hiliruk. The role of Hiliruk will be played by Mark Harelike of “Presumed Innocent” fame.

From the latest announcements, it’s clear that the Straw Hat Crew is getting closer to welcoming a new member. But if you were expecting season 2 to depict the Alabasta arc, you’re sadly not. Instead, the story will focus on the events leading up to the Drum Island arc, Eiichiro Oda confirmed on Tuesday. “Yes, the live-action One Piece is currently in production and filming is progressing smoothly. The story will be set in Rogue Town, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island,” the author said.

Netflix previously confirmed that Ty Keogie, Rob Collett, Julia Rehwald and Callum Carr will reprise the roles of Dalton, Wapol, Tashigi and Smoker, respectively. The faces of several Baroque Works agents were also revealed: David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Kamrus Johnson as Mr. 5 and Jazara Jaslin as Miss Valentine.

The release date for season 2 is still unknown.
