Rep. George Santos (RN.Y.) admitted Monday that he lied about his work history and college education during his successful campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives.
In an interview with new york post, Santos said, “My guilt here is garnishing my resume. I’m sorry.”
He also told the newspaper: “I spoke about people’s concerns, not my resume.”

Santos also said he worked for Citigroup and Goldman Sachs, but neither company could find records to prove it.
Mr. Santos told the Post that he had “never worked directly” with either financial firm and said it was “a poor choice of words.”
He told the Post that Link Bridge, the investment firm he was vice president of, does business with both.

Santos ran for Congress in 2020 and was unsuccessful. He ran again in his 2022, winning a district that included Long Island Suburbs and parts of Queens.
