When we started NewRetirement, we had one person in mind: my mom. She needed help with retirement, and NewRetirement was born. As the years went by, our goals got bolder and so did our company. Now, we help millions of people become financially confident through our DIY financial planning software, advisor tools, and corporate partnerships. Our goal is to help everyone become financially confident and bold in life. We know our current customers appreciate the work we do, and we believe we can help another 100 million people make confident, impactful decisions about their money through a powerful platform that’s easy for everyone to use.
We are excited to announce the next big step in our journey: NewRetirement is now Boldin.
Why relaunch the brand now?
We are a financial planning platform dedicated to empowering everyone with financial confidence. Today, only 30% of Americans have a long-term financial plan, and many don’t begin thorough retirement planning until several years before their intended retirement date. But we know that the earlier you start, the greater your chance of success.
While retirement planning isn’t all we do, the NewRetirement name limits what people expect from us. We want our company to engage people at every stage of their financial journey. Whether you’re paying off debt, buying a home, saving for your dream vacation, or planning for your ideal retirement, we want you to know we can help.
Changing our name is not something we took lightly, but as we expand we recognize it’s important to ensure we’re not limiting what people think of us.
Why did you choose Bouldin?
When we began our journey to find a new name, we spent a lot of time exploring who we are as a company and how we want to be with our customers. Financial confidence is at the core of our business, but it’s what that confidence brings that really inspires us. Through our community, we’ve seen that great planning can help people become bold in life, make inherently bold decisions, and achieve their personal goals.
When the name Boldin was presented to us, we knew it was a win. It reflects our desire for our customers: that they would be financially confident and bold in life, whatever that means to them. Finally, as a company we wanted to make a bold choice to stay true to our values, step out of the safe path, and pursue a bigger vision, which is reflected in our new name.
How this is achieved
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be changing our name in some key places. We’ve also updated the look and feel of our brand. We’ve kept some NewRetirement brand elements (like the arch from our original logo), but we’ve adopted a bolder color palette. We’ve also added new graphic elements that reflect the multifaceted, creative nature of financial planning.
What becoming Boldin means to you
As our audience grows, we remain committed to supporting the customers who have helped us get to where we are today. Your feedback shapes our products and you are a constant source of motivation for our team.
We will continue to deliver and improve the retirement planning functionality you love. We will also invest in features and leverage AI to support people at different stages of their financial journey, like adding new account types, different ways to visualize different aspects of your plan, and a new explorer to help you dig into different aspects of your financial life. In the long term, our platform will make it easier to go beyond planning and into action through collaborative planning, investing, debt, estate planning, tax planning and intergenerational planning.
The first of these new features is the Financial Wellness Snapshot, which we recently launched. The metrics that are important to you will vary depending on your financial situation. With Financial Wellness Snapshot, you can see your financial strengths and weaknesses and choose which financial metrics you want to monitor from a library. We allow you to customize your experience based on what matters most to you.
For clients focused on retirement, we will soon be releasing a new Withdrawal Report that will provide a detailed breakdown of withdrawals over the course of your retirement years.
We are so excited that you will join us on this journey to help people build financial confidence and become bolder in life.
Be bold.
