The Washington Nationals won their first Curly W of the 2025 season in a 5-1 victory over the Phillies. They did it behind the scenes of powerful veterans and did an excellent starting pitching from Mitchell Parker.
There was a pitcher duel early on. Mitchell Parker was in and out of trouble while Aaron Nora cruised through the first few innings. Parker stuck two runners in the first and third innings, and double plays with the men in the first and second innings. However, Parker’s steady attitude did not feel that despite all the baserunners, the Phillies were on a major inning crisis.
Nola was the first to absolutely blow the NATS lineup, allowing only one hit. In the fourth innings, it looked like Louis Garcia Jr. and James Wood were coming down quickly. However, Nora opened the door when he hit Kiebate Lewis. Now Red Hot After Nathaniel Lowe’s hard hit single, Josh Bell came to the plate.
The bell rang the tower A huge home run I caught many of the plates on my first pitch fastball. Nora was dotted across the corner all day, but he left this pitch on the plate and Bell didn’t miss it. I loved Josh in his first stint as Nut, so it’s so much fun to watch him get on the board. He was working on getting into more power this offseason, so it worked with it with the bat.
Armed with a three-run lead, Parker began selling with more confidence. After the fourth leadoff single, Southpaw retired from the 9 Straight Phillies. After he finished the sixth, it was time for Davy’s decision. Leave your hoodie or go to the bullpen.
When the nut came to the seventh peak, he had time to bite it. With just one, Keibert Ruiz scored a single on the right field to raise Nathaniel Lowe. Lowe and Bedold, Nats’ new first bass man had something great in the bat. Booming Homer In the center of the left. Lowe fought multiple really good two strike pitches from Nora and when the right-hander finally made a mistake, he made him pay.
Later in the innings, Paul DeJohn doubled to the left to close out 3/3. DeJong seemed very stable in his gloves, so it’s a welcome sight for him to offer an attack. We know he does a lot, but hopefully he can bring in an extra base hit with it.
Dilncrue hit to finish the inning. The crew is in real funk and will likely need a holiday tomorrow. After eight straight strikeouts, it appears the youngster is pushing right now. His erroneous ball in the ninth was a play from a man with low confidence.
Davey’s decision was a little easier as NATS rose 5-0. He will at least ride with Parker to start. However, Parker got into some trouble and allowed two hits. Jose a Feller will take part in the game in one place. After he attacked Kyle Schwarber, it again looked like a deja vu. However, Feller lets Alec Baume roll into a massive inning that ended the double play.
On the 8th, Jorgeropes came over to offer Nat the first drama free relief outing. However, on the 9th, the drama returned.
Davy turned to Brad Road, who was making her MLB debut. The Lord is a wonderful story, but today was not his day. After allowing a leadoff hit, his control shaking and he walked two straight. But Kyle Finnegan came to save the day. Although he scored on Fielders’ options, Finnegan did an amazing job limiting damage and gave Nat a 5-1 victory.
The series had many highs and lows, but it’s a lot of fun watching regular season baseball come back. The starting spin is great, and the NAT is being hit for power. But the bullpen and Dylan crews didn’t have the best opening weekend. Today, March 30th, the 2025 Washington Nationals won their first roll W.
