NEW FAIRFIELD — Research is underway to explore feasibility and gauge interest in potential community-owned broadband fiber optic networks.
New Fairfield is participating in a project funded by the Western Connecticut Council of Governments to explore fast, affordable and reliable broadband options for residents and businesses in 18 member communities.
In addition to the 9-question online survey, WestCOG collects internet bills as part of the study to determine how much residents are currently paying for internet and compare it to the advertised price for services.
