iPhone 15 leaks have already been revealed Apple’s ambitious plans For next-generation smartphones. But now, according to new information, these ambitions come at a heavy price.

work together Solutioninfluential industry insiders Leaked ApplePro We released a ton of new iPhone 15 info, including price increases that are likely to shock US buyers.

Last month, a leaker revealed that the bill of materials for the new name for Apple’s “Pro Max” model, the iPhone 15 Ultra, was: Price up to $100Now, according to LeaksApplePro, the iPhone 15 Ultra has a starting price of $1299, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max will see a $200 price increase, making it the biggest single-generation jump in iPhone history.

“It’s going to be a more expensive iPhone. Even in the US,” Leeker explains. “Apple is losing margins year after year. Rising production costs and inflation have devalued the money the company is keeping in the bank, and finally the camel’s back is broken.”

LeaksApplePro said, “We don’t know the status of other devices in the lineup.” That said, with a starting price of $1299 and the iPhone 15 Ultra potentially going up to $1799 for his 1 TB model, Apple doesn’t like to cut into the market, so this is the rest of the range. It can have ripple effects. Between products in the same lineup.

On the flip side, the iPhone 15 Ultra is well worth the money. LeaksApplePro says the iPhone 15 Ultra will ship at a minimum of 256GB (twice his current 128GB entry point), which eases some of the price pain.

Additionally, the leaker reiterates that the new model comes with dual front camera, USB-C (40Gbps) with Thunderbolt 4 will replace the Lightning port with USB 2.0 speeds (480Mbps/0.48Gbps) and “it will be made of titanium” – Significant strength and price increases.

Update 12/10: LeaksApplePro has provided more information about Apple’s use of titanium in the iPhone 15 series.Following a recent leak from popular industry insider ShrimpApplePro, Apple brings Titanium on all iPhone 15 modelsas well as the iPhone 15 Ultra, Leaks Apple Pro says this is categorically wrong.

“That’s not true,” claims LeaksApplePro, stating “Ultra only (probably 15 Pro, but definitely not 15 and 15 Plus).”

Considering the cost of titanium, this makes sense. It’s three to four times stronger than the stainless steel used in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, so less material is needed to create a chassis that’s equally strong, if not stronger. , some might argue that the price will fall.

The problem with that argument is that the current price of titanium is $35-50 per kilogram, compared to $1-1.50 per kilogram for stainless steel. That’s a big difference, and it’s out of reach on the standard iPhone.

So my guess is whether Apple will complicate its supply chain with three different chassis materials (aluminum on the standard model, stainless steel on the iPhone 15 Pro, and titanium on the iPhone 15 Ultra) or stick with two. It becomes a problem. Downgrading the iPhone 15 Pro is likely not an option, so this could mean upgrading the standard model to stainless steel.

Update 12/11: LeaksApplePro is back today with additional information.

First, the insider answered my question about Apple’s choice of chassis material. Interestingly, the answer is now that Apple plans to use all three. Aluminum is reserved for the two standard iPhone 15 models, stainless steel for the iPhone 15 Pro, and titanium for the Ultra.

LeaksApplePro adds a caveat, “That’s what we know so far.” That’s fair considering how fast the iPhone 15 series’ development cycle is, but it’s interesting to see the company add this complexity to its supply chain.

Secondly, LeaksApplePro says that the repeatedly leaked dual front camera is likely exclusive to the iPhone 15 Ultra.

We think this is more likely due to physical size than simply from a cost standpoint. Adding a second camera leaves little room for other icons. Many of the icons (Time, Cellular/WiFi Signal, Notifications, etc.) are considered essential by the user.

A second camera is considered a luxury by comparison. By contrast, the 6.5-inch iPhone 15 Ultra can house a camera and hold the same number of icons as the iPhone 15 Pro. I don’t know yet if I will.

And one last piece of interesting information. [silver]I don’t know if that will be the only color available in September or if there will be more, but as of today none of my sources have seen anything other than the same color as the Apple Watch Ultra. .

Yes, the iPhone 15 Ultra looks to make iPhones more expensive than ever, but it also looks like the most exciting and ambitious smartphone Apple has released in years.
