netflix On Wednesday, we outlined the long-awaited password-sharing guidelines, starting with users in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain, and showed the latest steps in the company’s Telegram crackdown.

Netflix is testing password-sharing restrictions outside the U.S. before rolling out domestically in March. Prices in Canada can predict how much the program’s U.S. debut will ultimately charge.
The changes announced Wednesday are rolling out immediately, along with a new “Manage access and devices” page that lets users curate who can access their account.
Users who want to save the additional monthly fee of a “sub-account” can migrate their profile to a new account. A transferred profile will retain all of your personalized recommendations and browsing history from your original account.
Netflix said it plans to review and improve the new account management page based on user feedback.
The user guidelines came after the streamer posted a big beat in subscriber numbers in the fourth quarter and announced that former CEO Reed Hastings was stepping down.
The company announced last fall that it would limit password sharing in the U.S. and Canada region due to slowing subscriber growth.
