A similar incident occurred On a plane last July From Nice, France to London.
The flight, operated by British low-cost airline EasyJet, had the same type of fog that Gowarty had complained about, Newsweek reported. report.
However, an EasyJet spokesperson allayed potential travelers’ concerns, saying the fog was simply the result of condensation and that “this is completely safe.”
“Onboard a flight, you may be able to see the air conditioning system cooling and condensing warm air from outside. Passengers could see this on this flight from Nice to Gatwick.” the person in charge said.
“We can confirm that this is completely safe for everyone on board. The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority.”
Viewers who saw Gowarty’s clip also commented that this phenomenon is very common.
“It’s condensation from the heat outside and the cold air on the plane!!” It’s completely normal, especially in the summer and when it’s hot outside. ” the person wrote.
Another poster supported this claim, saying that such condensation “occurs frequently” on flights in the southern United States, where it can be quite hot outside.
Still, most people who took part in Gowarty’s video empathized with her anger and said they would demand compensation if they were in her shoes.
French skincare brand La Roche-Posay also commented on the viral video, taking a more glass-half-full approach.
“Four hours of flight and free mist refreshment for wet skin,” the company wrote, to which Gowarty responded: “That’s one way to look at it!”
