Momofuku Goods, chef David Chang’s pantry staple brand, has announced the launch of a new line of Korean barbecue sauces. This is the first new product line to be launched by the brand since 2021. The sauce will be sold directly to consumers starting May 1st. , will be released in 2024 and will be on Whole Foods Market shelves on June 1, 2024, with other retailers expected to follow.
With the release of these new sauces, Momofuku Goods returns to the company’s roots in 2015, when it sold sam sauce, a longtime restaurant staple. The company launched his Ssam Sauce in 2018 for a limited time. This latest collection consists of his two SKUS.
– Sweet and delicious Korean BBQ sauce: A deeply flavorful and balanced blend with notes of black pepper, ginger and soy. This sauce is versatile and can be used to marinate meat, stir-fry, dip dumplings, and more.
– Sweet and Spicy Korean BBQ Sauce: A balanced blend of mild spices with gochujang, soy sauce, and other umami-rich flavors. It has a medium spiciness with a “Korean” accent, and has a good balance of sweetness and deep flavor.
Both sauces come in squeezeable formats, so they’re easy to use for dipping, drizzling, and dipping. The consistency of the sauce is thicker than usual, similar to traditional BBQ sauce, making it more versatile and adaptable.
