Perhaps this is why a TikToker named Ray (@its_rayy) was shocked to see that he was charged $17.89 for two iced coffees he tried to buy at Mickey D’s store.
Even more frustrating for Ray was the McDonald’s employee’s reaction after she brought up the fact that the price couldn’t be right.

Ray says in the video that went viral: $7 to $8. ”
However, the price was more than double that. “So I went to pay the machine and it said $17.89,” Ray says. “So I said to the woman, ‘I’m sorry, I only ordered two iced coffees.'” And she just looks at me… doesn’t answer. ”
Mr. Ray said the employee remained unresponsive after Mr. Ray told him $17.89 for two coffees couldn’t be a fair price.
“…She’s just staring at me, miss,” Ray continues. “I think I’m okay, and then I joke, ‘You know I’m a teacher.’ We teachers paid her $17.89 for two iced coffees.” I have no income.”
Ray said he failed to elicit a reaction or response from his employees, but ended up paying just over $7.
Viewers who saw Ray’s clip couldn’t believe the first amount a McDonald’s employee tried to charge her for two drinks.
One person said, “McDonald’s iced coffee is 17????),” another wrote, “Why is it more expensive than Starbucks!!!!”
One TikTok user wrote, “2 large McDonald’s iced coffees in Canada are $6.58,” while another said it’s even cheaper in the US. I wrote.
A former McDonald’s employee also said the prices weren’t tracked.
“I worked at McDonald’s and it was $2.75 for a medium iced coffee and $3.15 for vanilla or caramel,” they wrote.
