A man was arrested after climbing to the top of the Las Vegas sphere on Wednesday afternoon, just before the Super Bowl was to be held in Las Vegas this weekend, according to reports.

By now we all know what the Las Vegas sphere is. It’s that giant globe in the city that hosted a U2 concert inside and may seem like a giant centerpiece to anyone walking or driving by from outside.

Normally it’s not something that random people would just use to climb, but that didn’t stop the man who was identified as the random climber. His name is Madison Des Champs, and he is a pro-life activist who calls himself “Pro-Life Spider-Man.”

In the Des Champs video Post to Instagram, he climbed to the top of the Sphere to help raise money for homeless pregnant women. Shortly after he posted the video, authorities released a statement saying he had been arrested.

The globe is 366 feet tall and is made up of LED panels that illuminate the sky, allowing the “pro-life Spider-Man” to not only climb onto it, but also not get injured in the process. That’s pretty wild.

With the Super Bowl being held in Las Vegas this weekend and U2 performing in concert on Wednesday, this man chose an opportunity to gain public attention and break the law.

U2 was the only band to play at the Las Vegas Sphere, but jam band Phish will soon have a residency at the unique venue, as will Dead & Company. Both those bands were on our albumThis is a list of artists I would like to see in concert at Sphere.
