Keuka College has filled a key leadership position with the appointment of corporate veteran Brian McDonald as its new vice president for finance and administration. The Fairport resident was selected after a lengthy, nationwide search process and joined the college this month.

“I am excited to welcome Brian McDonald to the college’s executive team,” said Keuka College President Amy Story. “He has more than 20 years of corporate experience and I am confident in his abilities to lead the way in new efficiencies and revenue opportunities, especially as we begin to embark on a variety of new strategic initiatives.”

In his new role, McDonald will oversee the financial and business operations of the College, provide strategic advice to the President and manage key administrative functions including finances, budget, human resources and facilities. He will also serve as a member of the executive team and contribute to strategic planning and collaborate with senior leaders to ensure the College meets its financial goals and obligations.

“I am honored to join Keuka College,” said McDonald. “The college’s commitment to student-centered learning, rich history of empowering students through experiential education, and vibrant community all attracted me to the position.”

McDonald brings extensive experience, most recently serving as Director of Revenue Excellence at Fluke Corporation, a Washington-based electronic tools and software manufacturer, and has held similar leadership roles over the years at companies such as Advanced Sterilization Products, Qualitrol Company, LLC and AMETEK Power Instruments.

“The opportunity to work in higher education and support the university’s financial goals is a new challenge in my career and one that I believe my experience over the past 20 years has prepared me for,” he said. “I look forward to working with the dedicated faculty, staff and leadership team to support the university’s mission and advance its financial health and stewardship excellence.”

Mr. McDonald earned his Master of Business Administration in Competitive Strategy and Operations from the Simon School of Management at the University of Rochester and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Kate Gleason School of Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology.
