Manager Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool’s match against Tottenham Hotspur should be replayed after the controversial decision to disallow Luis Diaz’s goal for offside.
Dias saw his goal incorrectly ruled out for offside by Darren England, Dan Cook, VAR and assistant VAR, who were unable to overturn an on-field decision that would later be made by PGMOL. “Severe human error.”
England informed referee Simon Hooper that the check had been completed, with the impression that they were confirming an onside decision rather than an offside decision. This canceled out Diaz’s goal.
PGMOL, the body responsible for refereeing English soccer, released the audio of the decision on Tuesday. Liverpool received it before it was released to the public.

But Klopp believes the game should be played again.
“I’m not saying this as a manager of Liverpool, but as someone involved in football, but I think the only outcome should be a rematch,” he said. Probably it won’t happen. I think this is very unprecedented.
“As far as I can remember, nothing like that has ever happened. That’s why I think there should be a replay.
“I’m not mad at any of them at all. We shouldn’t have gone after them. I think they made a mistake and I’m sure they felt terrible that night. They did it on purpose. That is not the case, and we should not forget that.”
Liverpool previously said they would “consider the range of options available to them” following the incident at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Saturday.
At this stage, there has been no formal request from Liverpool to the Premier League to replay the match.
Meanwhile, England and Cook will not be included in the list of officials appointed for Round 8 of the Premier League, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday this week. Adrian Holmes, the assistant referee who flagged Dias for offside during the goal incident, has been appointed in charge of the Championship for this weekend’s match.
In addition, England have been removed from refereeing midweek matches in the English Football League. He was originally scheduled to oversee tonight’s match between Leicester City and Preston North End, but will be replaced by Tom Bramall.

Klopp also insisted Curtis Jones did not deserve to be sent off against Spurs.
The England Under-21 midfielder was shown a red card midway through the first half for a challenge on Yves Bissouma.
Liverpool appealed this decision. However, this failed and Jones was suspended for the next three games. The player will miss the Premier League games against Brighton, Everton and Nottingham Forest.
“It was all the other decisions that made this day really difficult for us. Now we’re talking about the VAR process and how they’re talking about it, but in this game Curtis Jones There was another situation where we received a red card. I stand by the opinion that this was not a red card,” Klopp added. “The referee was called to the screen and saw the first three seconds of static footage. If that had been the picture he would have given an immediate red card.
“Then he watched the replay in slow motion and I would have given him a red card for that. But it’s not a red card. I said it wasn’t an obvious mistake. That’s right. The referee’s first call was a yellow. The obvious mistake was showing him the still picture and the slow motion.”
Alexander-Arnold wants Liverpool to ‘move forward’
Trent Alexander-Arnold said ahead of Thursday’s Europa League game against Union Saint Giroise that he believes Liverpool need to “put us on the back burner”.
He said: “There’s nothing we can do as players about what happened. I wouldn’t say there’s a reliability issue (with VAR), but what happened over the weekend was very disappointing and frustrating for us as a team. did.
“We have to move forward and put it behind us. We have to trust the officials who use the VAR system and expect them to make the right decisions wherever possible. Our focus now is to win the two remaining games before the international break.”
