Staff at both the valuation conference Valuation Expo and Appraisal Buzz, a newsletter for valuation professionals, will remain in place and no changes are planned for either organization, AEL announced the acquisition Wednesday.
AEL is a subsidiary Storyboard EMPCEO Jim McLeod and AEL executives Hal Humphreys and Bryan Reynolds have negotiated the acquisition. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We have reached a stage where we need to downsize, so we have carefully selected a successor,” Trice said in a statement. AEL’s educational products, communication skills, and meeting management skills “raise the bar” for both meetings and newsletters, she added.
President Trice Collateral risk network (CRN) — a non-profit organization focused on valuation, collateral risk and regulation — will continue to host annual meetings in conjunction with Val Expo, which she started in 2003. in Las Vegas, Nevada.
AEL will also serve as co-organizer of two annual evaluation conferences, the ACTS Conference in Sacramento, California in April 2023 and the September 2023 Evaluation Summit Conference scheduled for September 2023. Continue to partner with the Association of Appraisers (NAA).
Headquartered in Maryland, Appraisal Buzz sends out a newsletter twice a week, featuring articles and submissions from industry leaders, according to its website. LinkedIn Company sizes range from 11 to 50 employees.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Tennessee, AEL offers online training to help property appraisers “learn new skills and gain experience,” according to its website. According to AEL, more than 2,770 people are enrolled in its study programs.
