The decision will allow the airline to “reposition” its fleet and increase the number of flights it operates along “strong” routes. Aircraft that once served underperforming cities will now be deployed to fly between popular destinations, helping the company “when aircraft availability is limited.” Become.
JetBlue said some of its planes are currently out of service for engine inspections.
Customers affected by the airline change will be able to select alternative flight options online. If an alternative route is not available, you will receive a refund.
JetBlue has lost more than $2 billion since its last profitable year in 2019, according to the Associated Press. The airline tried to buy Spirit, but the Justice Department sued to block the deal. A judge ruled in January that the proposed takeover could not succeed because it would “substantially reduce competition.”
