The Huawei P60 series is expected to debut in the coming months. A normally trustworthy Huawei news source has revealed details about the camera-focused phones, as well as information about the devices included in the lineup.

Huawei failed to launch a new P-series generation last year after the P50 series in 2021, but the Chinese company finally looks ready to bring the P60 series to market, focusing on cameras. Flagship rumors are spinning a little faster.

As revealed by informant @RODENT950, Huawei has four P60 series models in development. The lineup reportedly starts with his budget P60E and also includes possible vanilla P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Ultra. The P60 Ultra appears to be the successor to “Plus” models such as the P40 Pro+ and Mate 40 Pro+. Considering the arrival of popular “Ultra” models from companies such as Xiaomi and Samsung, it makes sense to see a brand change, especially with rumors that Apple could release the iPhone 15 Ultra this year. It’s suitable.

The same leaker also revealed some key camera details for the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro. Presumably, the P60 will have a Tricam setup on the back, with a 50 MP IMX789 as the main camera, a 50 MP IMX858 as the ultra-wide shooter and a 16 MP IMX351 under the zoom lens. Vanilla models are expected to offer variable aperture technology.

According to @RODENT950, the Huawei P60 Pro keeps the 50 MP IMX789 (which is a shame because IMX789 is the unimpressive old sensor used in the OnePlus 9 Pro two years ago) and the IMX858. But add an IMX888 and a 64 MP OV64B to the mix to complete a quad camera system that also features a “dual frame variable aperture”.
