1. Decide what kind of job you want to pursue
In order to find a job you like, you need to know what you want to do. So, take some time to think about the following questions.

What should I do best? Think about the skills you always have naturally – the things others say you’re good at. These are difficult skills (writing, budgeting, etc.); soft skills (communication, leadership, etc.).
What do I want to do most? These are activities where time seems to stand still. When you are engaged in these activities, you forget everything else. You look forward to them and may even spend hours during your breaks learning more about them.
What results are most important to me? Think about the people you want to help, the problems they have, and the solutions to their problems. For example, you might be passionate about helping people pay off debt or helping busy mothers get more time back into their schedules.

2. Start job hunting
If you know you don’t have enough experience yet in the field you want to pursue, use your free time to take courses, volunteer, intern, or do whatever it takes to get qualified and build your resume. Please go. Start the application process.
However, if you already have some qualifications or experience, start with sites like Indeed, CareerBuilder, Ladders, and Glassdoor, where you can narrow your search to specific locations, desired salaries, and job types. No need for tedious networking events. Reach out to people you already know from church, past jobs, internships, clubs, friend groups, etc. and see if they (or someone they know) can help you get closer to the type of job you want.
