However, in this case, the staff member played the audio as if he had passed it on to another staff member.

“When I called Jerome, he just sat there like a fat [expletive]just telling you what it is [expletive] He doesn’t know,” she said. This is not the first time Jackson Lee has verbally abused staff. In fact, in 2011, a Daily Caller report cited a number of former staffers who said she used demeaning language and slurs when speaking to them.

She was also accused of forcing her staff to work long hours into the early morning hours and requiring her to drive them wherever they went, no matter how short the distance.

Jackson Lee joined the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in 2019 following a lawsuit by a former employee who claimed he was fired in 2015 in retaliation for a planned lawsuit related to an alleged rape by his boss. He was forced to resign as chairman. .

According to the New York Times, which first reported on Jackson Lee’s plans to resign, after the lawsuit became public a week ago, CBCF directors asked Jackson Lee to step down as chairman or else. He is said to have instructed him to vote for dismissal.

In the lawsuit, an anonymous former employee alleges that she was raped by the foundation’s internship program coordinator and her then-supervisor while interning at CBCF. Two years later, she was hired to work for Jackson Lee, who had recently become chairman of the CBCF board. Doe said she received a text message from then-CBCF Chief Executive A. Shauniece Washington shortly after Jackson Lee was hired.

Mr. Washington allegedly sent a message to Jackson Lee saying, “I received a notification that a new employee has arrived,” naming the employee by name. “Call me. I know her background.”

The staffer made the announcement in 2018, about two weeks after she told Jackson’s chief of staff, Glenn Rushing, that she had “learned more about recent incidents involving Mr. Jones and CBCF and intended to pursue legal action.” He said he was fired in March. Basics.
