Halle Bailey and DDG have broken up after two years of dating.
On Thursday, DDG announced their disbandment on Instagram Stories.
“Dear friends and supporters, after much consideration and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but it is one we understand. I believe it’s the best move forward for people. I cherish the time we spent together and the love we shared.”
“Although there have been changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true,” he added. “We are still best friends and respect each other.”
The news comes less than a year after they welcomed their first child, son Halo.
DDG said that as they end their relationship, they will “focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents” and “cherish the bond we have built and the beautiful moments we have shared.”
“We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate this transition,” DDG wrote at the end of a lengthy statement. “Thank you for your love and encouragement.”
The pair made their final red carpet appearance at the Recording Academy Honors in February.
“Extra” spoke to Halle and DDG, who enjoyed their “first night out” with Halo.
When asked what it was like to leave Halo for the first time, Halle said, “It was very difficult.” Darryl added: “It was tough, he was crying a lot.”
Halle and DDG officially launched Instagram in March 2022.
