Park Seo Joon recently appeared on singer Sung Si Kyung’s YouTube channel and revealed his struggle with childhood bullying and how it deeply affected his personality.
“Why is Secretary Kim like that?” The actor revealed that he was “extremely shy and introverted” as a child. When asked if he had ever been bullied at school, Seojun answered, “I was bullied a lot when I was in elementary school.” The actor said the years at the time, especially from first to fourth grade, were “incredibly difficult.” “It was hell,” he admitted, explaining how the bullying affected his self-esteem.
Seojun said, “I hated that side of myself until I was in the third year of junior high school. I couldn’t speak up and felt like an idiot.”
It was acting that changed things for him. This gave him confidence and allowed him to speak “a little bit”. Seojun said, “For the first time in my life, I found something I really wanted to do, so I gave it my all.” Years of hard work and dedication have transformed him from the shy kid he once was to the confident actor he is today.
