The recently crowned UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion seems to welcome the opportunity to defend her title against Valentina Shevchenko as soon as possible. I believe I was strong enough to justify that honor.

In interviews with several reporters, Grasso talked about how he was ready for the fight and how he couldn’t accept any outcome other than victory. He admitted he ran into some issues in the round, but offered some insight into how he was able to keep his composure and finally turn the fight around.

“I said finish the fight,” Grasso said. She dropped me off and I wasn’t doing well there for a while but I kept thinking I was going to get out of it I drilled the position a lot and an immediate rematch made sense She was a reigning champion, and I can fight again.”

Grasso’s victory over Valentina extended her winning streak to five games, taking her career record to 16-3. Grasso had previously beaten Ji-young Kim, Macy Barber, Joanne Wood and Vivian Araujo before beating Shevchenko. The 29-year-old fighter’s most recent loss came in September 2019 when she lost to former strawweight champion Carla Esparza.
