Glen Powell pranks school by releasing 3,000 crickets

Today, Glen Powell is a beloved movie star who everyone loves, but he was a bit of a prankster at school.

Currently appearing The Jennifer Hudson Show This week, Glenn reflected on the day he released 3,000 crickets into his middle school – and yes, the man who makes romantic comedies and steals people’s hearts is the same boy who used to buy insects to terrorize his friends at school.

Glenn, who called himself the Danny Ocean of the operation, said he enlisted the help of several others. “It was all prepped, I literally knew the exact timing down to the minute,” he recalled, noting that everything was going “according to plan” until he “decided to take initiative.”

Locked in the principal’s office, Glenn could only watch from afar as Cricket’s prank unfolded, but the diversion seemed to work in his favour, providing him with the ultimate alibi.

So while Glenn was exonerated 20 years ago, the students at his middle school are still paying the price.

When we first discussed the prank in 2018, Glenn said: The Ringer He said he got his insects from local pet stores, and connected his teenage rebelliousness to his acting career, saying, “That’s where half of this comes from. If I played by the rules as an actor I’d never be successful.”
