How to minimize these annoying robocalls
In addition to spam messages, annoying robocalls after searching for lenders to refinance can be a serious nuisance. Fortunately, there are several steps to protect your privacy by minimizing these interruptions.
1) Do not answer unfamiliar numbers calls or texts
Not answering unfamiliar calls is one of the best ways to avoid potential scams. Today, most phone carriers label robocalls as “spam risk” or similar. Scammers often use your local area code or even a portion of your phone number to make you think the call is legitimate. Therefore, it is important to carefully check the number before picking it up. If you don’t recognize the number, it’s safest to ignore the call or text in case it’s spam.
2) Block numbers
If you want to get spam calls and prevent future calls from the same number, you can easily block them. Learn how to block unknown callers on both iPhone and Android devices here.
3) Use carrier spam and robocall blocking services
Major airlines such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile offer free services to block spam and robocalls. These include AT&T Call Protection, Sprint/T-Mobile Scam Shield, and Verizon Call Filter. For more information, please contact your provider.
4) Try third party spam blocking apps
iPhones and Android allow users to use the app before downloading and detecting spam calls. Get our number one recommendation here.
5) Invest in personal data removal services
Unfortunately, phone numbers are more likely to be readily available on the many lists that data brokers sell to numerous search websites. However, removing numbers from these sites reduces the chances that spammers will grab them and reach out to you. Data Deletion Services removes your personal information from the web, so data brokers and scammers do not get a personal phone number, home address or email address. Although there is no service that promises to delete all data from the internet, deleting a deletion service is great if you want to constantly monitor and automate the process of continuously deleting information from hundreds of sites over a long period of time.
