Episode summary:
When Gretchen Rubin learned she was at high risk of going blind, she began to realize what she had taken for granted and rekindled her appreciation for sight and other senses. Since then, Gretchen has been dedicated to discovering how our five senses shape and enhance our experience of the world. How certain odors trigger good memories, and how touch can stimulate the vagus nerve and have a calming effect on the brain and body. We explore the science behind techniques for enhancing each of our senses and how they contribute to our well-being.
