Week 17 Fantasy Football Preview

Note: all Of statistics After week 10 — Unless otherwise specified. This is because the situation may change due to adjustments during the season, so it is good to compare recent performance with annual performance in terms of defense, etc.

acronym

  • RBTouch% — Percentage of RB Touches — Percentage of total RB touches for the team made by that player.
  • TmTGT% — Team Goal Percentage — Percentage of the team’s total goals allocated to that player.
  • YPRR — Yards per route run — a pretty valuable metric
  • APA — Allowed adjustment points (link in table above)

Jets at Browns (Tennessee)

  • Breece Hall averages 2.0 more YPC when the Jets are down by seven or more points than when he has a touchdown advantage, and the Browns are 7.0-point favorites.
  • Since Joe Flacco took over, he’s tied for ninth in FPPG (19.6) and first with 10 TD passes, and the Browns have won their past three games with Flacco averaging 351 passing yards.

Lions vs. Cowboys, Saturday, 8:15 p.m.

  • The Cowboys have allowed three rushing RB touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns in their last four games (SEA, PHI, BUF, MIA) with just five touchdowns and one touchdown in the first 11 games, respectively. There is.
  • The Broncos are the only team without a wideout score of at least 11.9 since the Lions’ bye, and nine receivers have done so in the other six games.

Patriots, Bills, 1 p.m.

  • If LaMondre Stephenson returns, he’ll be a mid-RB2 with upside and risk, while Ezekiel Elliott will be a RB3 with Stevenson and a RB2 without Stevenson.
  • If Hunter Henry plays, he’s the most consistent option for Bailey Zappe, with Demario Douglas behind him, but he’s the only one other than Mike Gesicki to find the end zone (3 touchdowns) last week. is only Henry.

Falcons vs. Bears, 1 p.m.

  • If Donta Foreman plays, the backfield will be a mess to avoid. If he remains out (personally), Khalil Herbert becomes a high risk/reward RB2/3.
  • Drake London’s TmTGT% with Taylor Heinicke is 7.1, while his TmTGT% with Desmond Ridder is 24.5.

Raiders at Colts, 1 p.m.

  • If Josh Jacobs returns, he’ll be in the top 20 running backs, but if he doesn’t, he’ll essentially be replaced by Zamir White.
  • If Zack Moss plays, Jonathan Taylor will still be RB1, but Moss is a strong player in the league expected to get a touchdown or a few touches in the RB4 group.

Rams vs. Giants, 1 p.m.

  • DeMarcus Robinson scored a touchdown in four straight games. Only eight wideouts can say the same thing this year.
  • Only four running backs have scored in double figures against the Rams since Christian McCaffrey (19.5 points in Week 2) and Joe Mixon (13.0 points in Week 3).

Cardinals vs. Eagles, 1 p.m.

  • Regardless of whether Marquise Brown returns, Greg Dortch is a decent gamble in the WR4/5 group.
  • The Cardinals have given up eight RB games of 100 or more rushing yards, with the next closest being the Broncos with five.

Saints at Buccaneers, 1 p.m.

  • Chris Olave has the 8th most expected receiving yards (1,162) and 1,041 actual receiving yards, and the Buccaneers have allowed 2,916 yards (most) this year.
  • Baker Mayfield has only had five games this year with a margin of 16 points or less, so the Saints are no longer a worrisome matchup.

49ers, Commanders, 1 p.m.

  • Losing Brock Purdy will add some risk to the 49ers’ roster, but Sam Darnold will play as a high QB2 with plenty of risk.
  • Jacoby Brissett has played well in limited action with 9.7 YD/ATT and 12.4 YD/Comp, both career highs (his previous highs are 7.3 and 11.8).

Panthers vs. Jaguars, 1 p.m.

  • Zay Jones will probably be out, but when he comes back, think of him as an up-and-down WR4. Without Jones, the Jaguars won’t risk receiving options other than Calvin Ridley and Evan Engram.
  • Tuba Hubbard has scored in double figures with at least 17 touches in each of his last five games, ranking 8th in RBTouch% and 13th in FPPG.

Dolphins at Ravens, 1 p.m.

  • Devon Ashen posted 20.6 RBTouch% and 6.0 TmTGT% when Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were on the field, compared to 27.6% and 8.7% when either was off the field.
  • Since replacing Mark Andrews, Isaiah Riley has become the TE5 in FPPG (11.4) despite only being 13th among tight ends in TmTGT% (18.1).

Titans vs. Texans, 1 p.m.

  • Assuming CJ Stroud returns, he will move back to the QB1 group, Nico Collins will be locked in at WR2, and Noah Brown will play most of the league.
  • Weird stat: Derrick Henry has completed 10 of his 11 rushing touchdowns when the Titans are losing or leading by less than a touchdown, compared to 10 of his 11 rushing touchdowns when the Titans are losing or leading by less than a touchdown. Only once if there is a lead.

Steelers vs. Seahawks, 4 p.m.

  • Over the past two games, Kenneth Walker has an 83.0% RB touch rate and Zach Charbonnet has only six rushes and one reception on three targets.
  • Week 16 was George Pickens’ first 100-yard game since Week 7, and only CeeDee Lamb, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel had more than 90 yards on the Seahawks since Week 3.

Broncos Chargers, 4 p.m.

  • Jerry Jeudy is a good WR3 if Courtland Sutton is unavailable, but Marvin Mims would be an interesting Hail Mary, and deep leagues could include Brandon Johnson.
  • Austin Ekeler is back in the lead with an 81.8 RBTouch%, and the Broncos only have three wins with a scoring differential of +8 or higher.

Bengals vs. Chiefs, 4 p.m.

  • With Isaiah Pacheco out, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is required to start, but if Pacheco is cleared, RB1 and CEH’s dice roll will be RB3/4.
  • Only three running backs failed to score 12 or more points against the Bengals (Kyren Williams in Week 3, James Cook in Week 9, and Zack Moss in Week 14), with Moss calling for a touchdown. Backed up.

Packers vs. Vikings (SNF)

  • The Packers’ wideout situation is a mess. If Christian Watson returns, he will be the next top pick along with Jaden Reed, but without Watson, Jaden Reed could be the top pick.
  • The Packers have allowed double-digit points to wideouts six times in their last three games (NYG, TB, CAR) and are averaging 20.6 QB points in their last six games.

Ranking is fun too!

Pat Mayo — a friend of mine from a few years after I started working — and I have been talking about rank for years. This season he created some great thumbnails for his YouTube show. Initially, I was going to rank them in the typical “fun to rank” way, but I had a hard time choosing which ones were best (Darkwing, Suits, TMNT, etc.). Now it’s your turn to rank! That’s right…here he is with 14 thumbnails and a vote to vote your opinion.

Week 17 Fantasy Football Projections

🚨 heads up 🚨 These may differ from my rankings. Rank is the order in which players start Outside of additional context, such as “we want the best upside, even if there is risk.” Also, based on that, QB’s 4-point TD, 6-point rest, half PPR

  • Unfortunately, the perfect widget doesn’t exist yet. I’m sure many of you are watching this on your phone, but 1) Use the Ranking His widget on your PC/Laptop etc. If possible, or 2) especially if you are an Android user, open in your phone’s browser so that scrolling works properly.
  • ECR = “Expert” Consensus Ranking (take it with a grain of salt, as not everyone updates it all the time).
  • Updated regularly, so be sure to check back until the lineup is locked.
