Motorists using DuSable Lakeshore Drive can expect more lane closures and traffic congestion this week, with work set to resume Monday night.

According to the Chicago Transit Authority, three southbound lanes will be closed between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive starting at 7 p.m. Monday. The closures will last until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Those lanes will also be closed for the remainder of the week from 6 p.m., reopening the following day at 5 a.m. One lane will be closed on the southbound side of the road throughout the week, officials said.

Additional closures are planned between Roosevelt and Highway 31.st The road will be closed starting Tuesday morning, with three lanes closed on the southbound side of the road from 9am to 4pm, with one lane reopening between 4pm and 9am the following day.

Those closures are scheduled to take effect Tuesday and Wednesday, CDOT officials said.

On the north side of the road, lanes are closed between Roosevelt and 31.st The road will be closed starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, with three northbound lanes closed from that time, and two lanes remaining closed throughout the afternoon and overnight.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead for the closure and be prepared for long delays if they must drive on DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
