Raleigh, North Carolina — Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh will be closed between South McDowell Street and Salisbury Street Saturday night through Sunday for utility work.

Duke Energy crews are scheduled to begin work at 10 p.m. Saturday night and finish by 2 p.m. Sunday.

Detour to Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh

  • Westbound traffic will turn left onto S. Salisbury Street, right onto W. Martin Street, right onto S. McDowell Street, then left back onto W. Hargett Street westbound.
  • Eastbound traffic will turn left on S. McDowell Street, right on W. Morgan Street, right on S. Salisbury Street, then left back eastbound on W. Hargett Street.
  • Pedestrians will still have access to the sidewalk on the south side of Hargett Street. The north sidewalk will be closed to traffic.
  • Travelers using GoRaleigh bus routes should check the app and notifications for any bus stops that may be closed or routes changed during construction.
