With the walls closing in on not just Joe Biden’s presidential campaign but the presidency itself, he must have been pretty confident he could at least hold onto one long-standing bastion of Democratic support: Hollywood celebrities.
But George Clooney, a representative figure of Los Angeles’ left-wing smarts, in a cold, calculated move to directly denounce the president and then, in a scathing New York Times column, to call on Biden to drop out of the race, was repeatedly reversed.
Let’s be clear here: this isn’t some heroic act on the part of Clooney or other A-list actors like Mia Farrow or Rob Reiner, who suddenly turned their backs on Scranton Joe.
Pressure mounts on Biden after George Clooney says Biden is unfit to run and other politicians privately agree
Clooney said in the article that he saw the incapacitated President of the United States with his own eyes at a major fundraiser in Los Angeles a few weeks earlier. Did the former Roseanne supporting actor think to tell anyone at the time?
Of course not: Clooney never thought to tell ordinary Americans that Chuck E. Cheese’s has animatronics that are more lifelike than our nation’s leaders; that information was meant to be shared only with a select few.
As long as it remains a secret, Clooney and his Hollywood pals, and Barack Obama and all the powers that be, can leave Sleepy Joe alone and continue as figurehead leader, as he has supposedly been for three years.
Don’t get me wrong: George Clooney, the White House staff, the journalists, they would all have been happy to continue the competent Joe Biden farce for another five years had the cracks not been accidentally exposed.
But that all changed in 1997 when Joe Biden had a Batman & Robin-style fiasco and suddenly everyone on Earth realized he was totally unfit to be president.
Biden supporter Michael Douglas told “The View” he was “deeply concerned” about the president’s ability to win.
At that point, Clooney and other left-leaning academics realized that if they could hold on to the top spot in the presidential election, the dead president was likely to lose by a landslide. Something had to be done.
So Clooney did what any normal person would do in this situation: he called The New York Times and asked them to write an opinion piece about it all. And the Grey Lady gave the go-ahead.
The blame here is not that Clooney, a longtime Democrat and Biden ally, turned his back on the president, but rather that he bore witness to the rapid cognitive decline we are all witnessing.
And he certainly won’t be the last to do so. How many other people saw Joe Biden at just that fundraiser, something the White House and campaign have tried so hard to hide?
Shame on George Clooney and the other rich and famous Biden supporters who have no idea how long they’ve hidden this truth from the American people.
The real message from Clooney, the New York Times, and whoever else is pulling the strings in this mess is that it’s not going to stop, and that there will be more disaster every day unless Biden faces reality and does the right thing.

Now Joe Biden could retreat over the objections of many in his party, selflessly proclaim that the welfare of the country is more important than any one person, and still retain some semblance of dignity, but that window is closing.
With each revelation like Clooney’s, Biden’s chances of stepping down on his own terms diminish, and on some level, he must know that his legacy is at stake in a more compelling moment.
Meanwhile, shame on George Clooney and the other Biden supporters who are so rich and famous they have hidden this truth from the American people for who knows how long.
Maybe they could do that awkward, ridiculous viral montage of videos urging Biden to drop out of the race: “We love you, Joe, but it’s time to go,” “Time to go, Joe,” “Time to go.”

As this scandal spreads like a mushroom cloud, what’s disturbing is not just the magnitude of the lies, but how many people knew about them and said nothing, how many understood the president was unfit for office but simply shrugged.
Don’t get me wrong: George Clooney, the White House staff, the journalists, they all would have been happy to continue the travesty of a competent Joe Biden for another five years had the cracks not been accidentally exposed. And that’s something we must never forget.
