A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver recently made headlines after he was filmed smoking several e-cigarettes in the bathroom at work.
TikToker Lonzo (@blynkgod) showed you how to save time when there are no deliveries in your queue. This video has been viewed more than 78,000 times at the time of publication.
Standing outside Domino’s Pizza, Lonzo explained why. He said, “I had to come out here to get what’s mine.” [vape pen] “Because I’m number four on the list,” he said. “Time clocked 23 minutes. There’s only one order on the screen. I’m bored. So let’s go to this bathroom and blink a few times. You know what I’m saying?”
Lonzo then headed to the bathroom, locked the door, turned off the light, and took two big puffs on his e-cig before coughing quietly into his arm.
Viewers were divided over the logic of filming and posting his smoking sessions.
One viewer said: “Wait until businesses see this.”
“Brother, you’ve been called to the office,” joked another.
“Yes, I enjoyed this with you lol,” said another, celebrating a cigarette break.
Another viewer replied: “This is at work.”
@blinkgod Yes, it’s my fault your pizza is late 🙄😂 #SeeAHitTakeAHit ♬ Original song – Lonzo
Jobs for delivery drivers may have declined since the pandemic.according to restaurant business magazineIn a survey conducted by Personal Capital, 94% of respondents said they had ordered fewer deliveries and ate out less frequently. However, restaurants and delivery services report different findings. DoorDash reported orders were up 27% year-over-year and sales were up 30%, the site said.
Good old fashioned delivery drivers seem to be a rare breed in today’s world of food delivery apps. Lonzo may have a little more leeway, but as an employee of a company that pays its drivers a set wage, he may be more likely to bring food regardless of tips. Drivers on food delivery apps are known to not accept orders that exceed the tip amount. For example, a DoorDash driver showed how his $92 Panera Bread order was left unattended for over two hours because the tip was insufficient.
