A leaflet for a Delta Air Lines flight diverted to Salt Lake City was put on the new plane after the emergency slide was accidentally activated, officials said.

Delta Air Lines Flight 520, which was flying from New York City to Los Angeles, announced Saturday that it was diverted to Salt Lake City due to maintenance problems.

Aviation officials said a slide from the same aircraft accidentally deployed while it was on the ground. There were 168 customers on board the flight.

A Delta Air Lines spokesperson said, “In order to get you to your final destination as quickly and safely as possible, you have reboarded your new aircraft.” “We apologize for the delay in your travel plans. Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people.”

The second plane landed safely at LAX on Saturday evening, they said.

Officials said no emergency landing had been declared and the plane had not turned due to the slide.

“Following due diligence, one crew member was taken to hospital for examination, but was discharged,” they said.

No additional details were provided as to why the crew was hospitalized.
