This is an artificial intelligence showdown. Which AI photo generator is the winner? You may have heard of ChatGPT, but did you know that AI was also creating images almost instantly? The artificial intelligence lab behind ChatGPT OpenAI also Doll E2, The system they claim can create realistic images and art from simple prompts you provide.
Microsoft is now in chat and has a new image creator on Microsoft Bing. It has proven to have some advantages over other image AI generators already online. Let’s dive in and compare the two to see which one really is the best.
Which one is more cost effective?
When it comes to cost, Bing Image Creator is definitely better. One nice feature of Bing’s Image Creator is that it can only be used with a Microsoft account, which can be created for free. Everyone starts with 25 daily boosts. This allows you to create images faster. Also, there are no additional costs for creating these images.
Both websites require you to fill out a prompt box, which basically describes how you want your image to look. (Kurt Knottson)
However, Dall-E is not free to use. Only those who sign up and start using Dall-E before April 6, 2023 will get free credits, and those credits will also expire after one month of use. If you run out of free credits or miss the April deadline, you will have to pay a minimum of $15 to use the generator. That $15 minimum gets you 115 credits and can only be paid in $15 increments (so the next lowest price you can pay is $30, $45, etc.).

Which one is easier to use?
Both have proven to be relatively easy to use, so in this case there isn’t much of an advantage over one over the other.

How can I get these programs to generate images?
Both websites require you to fill out a prompt box, which basically describes how you want your image to look.
The more specific the prompt, the more precise the explanation.
See the example below. I first tried typing the word “deodorant,” but it didn’t give as accurate a description as typing “deodorant stick on an empty dresser.”

Simply click “Generate” or “Create” when you see the specific prompt and the image will be created. If you like the images they create, you can download them to your device or share them with your friends. Both Bing Image Creator and Dall-E give you 4 images each when you fill in the prompts and you can choose which one to download or share.

Who Makes a Better Image?
Neither option is perfect, but I think Bing is a perfect fit for this. I’ve tried several different prompts for each.one of them is “Dog making breakfast” The left image of a dog in a chef’s hat is from Bing, and the right image of a dog with spooky fingers is from Dall-E.

Dall-E’s images are a little more literal than Bing’s, and look more like paintings than photographic images.Another prompt I tried is “Stack of old iphone Preparing the trash can. ” The left image is from Bing and the right image is from Dall-E.

Neither image is great, but at least Bing managed to make the iPhone a real stack instead of a pile of clutter.
However, neither Bing nor Dalle-2 are perfect.I tried typing in another prompt “Hand in hand,” And what I expected was two people holding hands.

As for the Dalle-2 version, did you notice any oddities as well?

final thoughts
Both image generators seem to require a great deal of specificity to create exactly what you have in mind. So far, Bing Image Creator is the overall better choice. But I think these he predicts the two companies will be competing with each other for years to come, so I wouldn’t be surprised if OpenAI returns in the coming months with a better alternative. I don’t think so.
