The initiative, presented by the city’s economic development department, includes three separate grants to provide support before, during and after construction.
The largest of the three Stabilization Construction Grantbacked by $1 million, offering up to $35,000 for eligible businesses in streets such as the South Alamo and Zona culture. To qualify, a company must demonstrate net revenue losses over the past year. An estimated 266 companies could benefit from this fund.
Relaxation Construction Grant Target companies preparing for major upcoming projects. The round focuses on the Marbach Road Streets and Drainage Project, which is expected to start this fall. The $2,000 grant is available to up to 40 companies to cover marketing and signage costs. A total of $80,000 was allocated for this effort.
The third grant, Accelerate recovery grantssupporting businesses along roadsides, including Broadway Street and Bruvelde Road, which have recently been completed. With $120,000 in funding, the program will provide $5,000 grants to up to 24 businesses, providing exterior and interior improvements, including paintings, signs and seating upgrades.
Applications for stabilization and recovery will be open by May 1st, and the application period for mitigation permits will begin on June 2nd.
