COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Local nonprofit BSCS Science Learning has received a $4 million research grant from the Department of Education.
The grant will be used to research a new middle school science program called OpenSciEd. This is her three-year program focused on puzzles and problem solving for students’ science education.
BSCS is affiliated with both Southern University and the Institute of American Studies.
“The rigor required to understand exactly how OpenSciEd is working in the classroom and how to support its adoption, especially to traditionally underserved communities, is “We will be able to collect empirical evidence on this,” he said. The study begins this month and will run until 2029.
