During today’s premiere of “Unlocking The Disney Treasure: Adventure Awaits Onboard Disney’s Newest Ship,” Disney Cruise Line announced that the rumored “Coco” dinner show at Disney Treasure is indeed happening.
Plaza de Coco
The Plaza de Coco hosts performances by a mariachi band, a ceiling covered in autumn leaves, and “coco” art. Miguel and his family make an appearance, and the cuisine is traditional Mexican with a “modern twist”.
Disney’s treasure map given to influencers featured Santa Cecilia, Miguel’s hometown in “Coco,” sparking rumors of “Coco” restaurants and entertainment.
Most Disney Cruise Line ships have at least one restaurant that hosts dinner shows, such as Rapunzel’s Royal Table from Disney Magic and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure from Disney Wishes.
On land, Mariachi Cobre performed the music of “Coco” with a Miguel puppet at EPCOT 2019. The same puppet appears in Disney California Adventure’s “Musical Celebration of Coco”. Casa de Coco — Restaurante de Familia recently opened at Disneyland Paris. During the 2023 Epcot International Arts Festival, L. Seven Taylor, who plays Mufasa in Broadway’s “The Lion King,” announced that Disney on Broadway was developing a “Coco” stage show.

The adventure-themed Disney Treasure is scheduled to set sail in 2024. The ship’s design is inspired by Walt’s love of Disney exploration. Disney launched a ship log page in July to track the ship’s construction.
The grand hall (atrium) of Disney Treasure will be designed in blue and gold. The golden atrium statue depicts Aladdin and Jasmine on a magic carpet.
Peter Pan and Captain Hook become life-size character figures on the stern of Disney Treasures.
Captain Minnie debuts Disney Treasure’s new ‘Voyager’ outfit. Voyager’s Minnie is pictured on the keel coin buried in March. Voyager Minnie will also board the bow of Disney Treasure.
A new adventurer character, Arthur Quinn, was also introduced in the Disney Treasures announcement.
