Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday lashed out at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, claiming he didn’t treat his confrontation with Disney like a “conservative.”

In an interview with Semaphore, Christie commented that DeSantis was using the government to bully companies like Disney. Dating back over a year.

“I’m a conservative, and I believe the government’s job is primarily to stay away from the business of business,” Christie said. I think.

“If you express your disagreements in this country, the government is allowed to punish you, so where are we going now?” he continued. “To me, that’s what I always thought liberals did, and now I’m on board with a Republican governor here.”

Disney’s Reedy Creek Improvement District Gets New Name, Governor-Appointed Commission

DeSantis is currently competing for development rights to the area around Disney World known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Disney was able to thwart DeSantis’ attempts to take control of the district by signing a development deal earlier this year.

Nevertheless, Christie argued that DeSantis was essentially betrayed.

“Whether you want to sit across from President Xi Jinping and negotiate the next deal with China or across from Putin and try to resolve what’s going on in Ukraine, Bob Iger is for you. If you can’t see around the corners you made, it’s not him,” Christie said. “I don’t think it’s very impressive.”

DeSantis’ office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
