A TikTok of a Chipotle customer complaining about the high price of a burrito bowl has gone viral, sparking another controversy about the fast-food chain restaurant.
In a video posted by Makena Silbernagel (@berrymakenna) on January 11, TikToker bellows: Yes, I got some guac, but it’s not going to be $19.82. With one cup, that’s a lot of money! what’s going on? ”
@Berry Makena Is it just me or did @Chipotle quadruple the price overnight? What is he putting in this sizzle for $20? #chipotle pepper #overpriced #quick story ♬ Original Sound – Makena Silbernagel • Fit
Accompanying the video is “Chipotle. I have a question,” and the caption in the video description reads: What is he putting in this sizzle for $20? #chipotle #too expensive #quick story?
The video currently has over 492,200 views as of Friday. The comments section was flooded with reactions from people who were also shocked by the high cost of the bowl and asked TikToker for more information.
One user said: Did you say, “Excuse me, does the total make him $19.82?”Then either explain it or say “oops” and give the correct total. ”
Another user added, “I bought it a few weeks ago and it was $9.”
A third commenter wrote: Please give me a breakdown of how they charged you. ”
We don’t know exactly why the bowl was so expensive in this instance, but it certainly drew attention to the problem of high prices for fast food chains. I don’t know, but it’s certainly been a hot topic among TikTok users and foodies alike.
