HUTCHINSON, Kansas (KSNW) — The site is almost ready for the 2023 Kansas State Fair. The event will be held from September 8th to 17th. Some entertainment and prices are different this year.
Kansas State Fair Manager Brian Schultz said there will be a variety of entertainment.
“We have an aerial aerobatics team called i-Flip. We have Robocars. We have Danny Grant and his cowboy circus,” Schultz explained.
However, the famous pig race sponsored by Hedricks Promotions will not be held.
“We’re looking for a better location, very close to Joe’s petting zoo, and we feel there will be a good position for him next year,” Schultz said.
He said the fair added a free entertainment stage to the stadium where pig races were once held.
“It was disappointing and surprising, but as you know, we live with it. Hedrick said.
Hedrick explained that the fair is doing its best to work out the details of the event and believes it will continue to provide great entertainment. He said Hedricks Promotions still offers petting zoos that people of all ages can enjoy.
“I think this year’s petting zoo has the best animal populations we’ve had in a long time,” Hedrick said. “People love baby kangaroos and zebras, and this year we had a baby donkey.”
The price of the ticket and the discount day of the venue are also different. At the fair, he won’t be offered one coupon per Dillon’s Dollar Day ride. According to the fair staff, it was caused by people using ride tickets with different dates. Instead, the all-day unlimited ride offers a $25 wristband.
Some fairgoers aren’t happy with the price changes, including Hutchinson resident Nick Hemphill, who enjoys attending each year with his wife and 10-year-old daughter.
“She’s the age where vehicles are a very important part of travel,” said Hemphill.
The dollar discount days were valuable as they allowed the family to ride all the rides.
“The other days my daughter is just riding. said.
his concern led him Post to FacebookI would like to ask about various changes that occur at the event. A number of community members commented and expressed the same problem with contacting the Fairness Commission.
“From the feedback I’ve received, people are saying they simply can’t afford to travel this year,” Hemphill said.
The discount date is important for single-parent families and teachers who won’t receive their first paycheck for the fall semester until Sept. 15, near the end of the fair, Hemphill said. He calls for more transparency and discussion from the impartial staff to apply the feedback they have received.
Fair manager Brian Schultz said general admission prices remain unchanged.
“Free gate entry on 1st Friday before 11:00 a.m. Chief’s Red Friday and 2nd Friday if you’re a Play-On member of the Kansas Lottery. We haven’t changed it,” Schultz said.
Schultz said there was a problem with parents dropping off minor children, citing the abolition of free admission after 9 p.m. for several years.
“We’ve had issues with kids getting a little out of hand, and the Highway Patrol had to deal with that, which means $5 after 9,” he said.
The fair runs for two days, and admission is $4 after 4pm.
“From the grandstand entertainment to the free stage to all the livestock… I mean, it’s going to be a great 10 days here in Kansas at the Kansas State Fair,” Schultz said.
