The Bucs are turning to another pass rush for the SEC. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Tampa Bay has already hosted Georgia Edge Rusher Mykel Williams on a top 30 visit to play rounds with several teams.
Along with the Bucks, Williams has already met with the Patriots, Jets, Cowboys and NFC South Division rival Saints. He is currently on a West Coast swing, visiting the 49ers on Monday and planning on meeting the Seahawks with the Cardinals the following day on Tuesday.
This is Tampa Bay, along with Femi Oladejo and Nic Scourton of UCLA in Texas A&M. Williams and Schoolton each live from the SEC, but Williams is the first Georgia Bulldog BUCS has met in Tampa Bay this year.

Mykel Williams is a very physical and powerful edge defender that comes from the great Georgia defense with a reputation for creating impact players in the NFL. He has a very high motor and is considered a great stop-run defender, indicating his commitment to all areas of the game.
Williams has the ability to devour offensive tackles against him, but he doesn’t have the best pass rush victory that comes at 11% per focus in professional football. Williams has a great club lip when going inside and has an extraordinary arm length, but still needs to add pass rushing moves. He thinks his game is similar to the back outside that linebackers Yaya Diaby and Chris Braswell provided to his team.
He didn’t play the drill in the NFL scouting combination, but Williams measured at 6-foot-5 height and weighed 260 pounds. He recorded 67 tackles, tackles for 23 tackles, 14 sacks and three forced fumbles in three seasons at Georgia. In his final season, he had a career-high five sacks to score nine tackles and two forced fumbles in 12 games.
Bucs drafting another OLB is still possible

The drafting of another edge rush is still on the Bucs table in the first round. They have cushions with Yaya Deevee and Herson Reddick on external linebackers, but that shouldn’t stop Tampa Bay from drafting another edge rush with Reddick, especially on a one-year contract.
As much as Tampa Bay doesn’t want to stop Chris Braswell from growing, they need to know the future of their teams Pass Rush. Reddick is likely to be in Tampa Bay for a season, so if Braswell doesn’t cut it, Bak is back in the same situation as those players before they join the team.
Williams is a great all-round player, so the Bucs can trust him and defend his run well, but they continue to develop his overall pass-rushing game. There is a risk that there are other edge rushers with similar traits, such as Braswell, but the talent in the first round coming from Georgia can be hard to overlook the defense looking for more production from the front four this season.
