Bucs Bring In Safety For Official 30 Visit

The Bucs continue to bring defensive backs for official visits, with the latest being JJ Roberts from Marshall. Sports Dude Heinz Show reported news about his visit to Roberts on X on April 2nd.

5-foot-11, 192-pound safety began his career at Wake Forest, where he played for three seasons before transferring to Marshall. He won 213 tackles, tackles for six tackles, 25 pass breakups, five forced fumbles, three intercepts and one sack.

Roberts finished his best season in 2024, finishing with 94 tackles, tackles for five tackles, bags, forced fumbles and 14 pass breakups.

Roberts, who had two career-high intercepts in 2023, was his first season with the thunderous flock, but is considered a potential client or undrafted free agent on the third day.

There are currently 15 in Tampa Bay Known visitors out of 30 So far, it includes six defensive backs. Five of them are corn black.

Bucs needs safety assistance in 2025

After returning to the team he drafted after two seasons with the New York Jets, the release of starter Jordan Whitehead in 2024, the Bucs are safe to need. There have been some debates about moving nickelback Tykey Smith in a strong and safe manner. Even so, the team is losing safety and will need to add another team to the roster.

Tampa Bay has re-signed Kavon Meriweather, an exclusive rights free agent who made some progress last year with some playing time on defense in addition to a special team. Currently, Merriweather will be fourth-place safety on the team behind Christian Izien. Bucs also has a safety feature above Practice squad Ratchad’s Wisdom and Marcus Banks.

Marshall’s JJ Roberts, who turned 24 in September, ran 4.41 on Pro Day and was interested in Bucs, who wanted depth of safety and special team help. Roberts blocked the field goal last year due to a thunderous pack.
