The 81-year-old Shaman was originally a protégé of the early 60s actor Salmineo. Through his connections he was caught up in the ABC music show “Shindig!”
While appearing as a main cast member of the television series Here Come The Brides (1968-1970), his singer’s career exploded. He won a no. He enjoyed his hits with 3 Little Woman (1969) and other big hits with “La La La (If I You)” (1969), “Julie, Do Ya Love Me” (1970), and “Easy Come, Easy Go” (1970).
Three of his songs landed him in a teenage magazine, with a million-seller. At the peak of his fame, he appeared in the Partridge Family (1971) and the spinoff Getting Gething Gething (1971).
Along with guest spots from various popular shows, “The Love Boat” (1978 & 1982), “Fantasy Island” (1981), and “Murder, She Write” (1985), he became a regular in the series for the 1986 show “Sanchez of Bel Air.”
Despite his influence on pop culture (he was Marge Simpson’s femininity fantasy man in the famous “Simpsons” episode), Sherman only performed twice, including his final acting gig in 1997.
He left Showbiz and became a medical training officer with LAPD and a reserve deputy sheriff. He returned to performances from 1998 to 2001, but left the stage again.
His second wife, Sherman and Bridget, founded the BBSC Foundation to help Garnia students get a quality education.
He worked for the charity and has been responding to fans ever since.
