A market with entertainment and treats is set to debut in Colorado Springs this weekend.

On Saturday, Wrecked Collective will host its first Artisan Alley Market at Penrose Alley at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts. The market features local artists, makers, and vintage goods sellers, as well as a variety of entertainment and food vendors.

“It’s about bringing together artists, makers and thrifters and giving people an opportunity to see the creative work of Colorado Springs, and we’re trying to focus on sustainability.”・Michelle Marschuka, co-founder and co-founder of the collective, says: Organizer of Artisan Alley Markets.

The market will be held on the third Saturday of each month until September. After that, Marchewka hopes to move the festival indoors to suit winter conditions.

The market will feature painters, sculptors, jewelers, antique finds and more. Ice cream truck Meltdown and mobile coffee shop Mountain Brews Coffee will be selling food and drinks at the event.

In addition to local art and food vendors, the market will host live demos and performances. The first market will feature demonstrations by EDM dance exercise group BRAT Fitness and a performance by singer and guitarist Alpha.

“We’re just trying to bring in artists, bring the community together and give them an opportunity to get out and enjoy your city,” Marchewka said.

“Come check out Cottonwood and see what it’s all about. While we’re at it, Cottonwood is open and people can see all the artists that are there. They’re hosting over 70 different artists.”

Perhaps the best part is that it’s free (parking too).

“This is a great way to bring people together to experience the art of our community,” Marchewka said.

“Our arts community is really growing and evolving, and I’m really excited to be a part of it.”
