Armie Hammer’s mother, Dru Hammer, is speaking out about his downfall.
Waiting for permission to load Instagram media.
In his new book, “Hammered,” Drew details the scandal that destroyed Armie’s career.
She said, “Armie made bad personal choices that damaged his reputation and hurt women. None of his choices were criminal. In fact, the LAPD thoroughly investigated the case and all charges were dismissed. Armie has been cleared of all legal wrongdoing, but moral wrongdoing is a separate matter. The effects of cancel culture have lasted long, along with broken hearts.”
In addition to his declining acting career, Armie also battled a sensational divorce from Elizabeth Chambers and some bizarre allegations.
Dru confirmed Armie’s infidelity, writing, “Armie began a messaging exchange with several women that led to his downfall. Those messaging exchanges led to an affair. Three of the women stayed in contact and conspired to trash Armie in the press. One of the women accused him of sexual assault and rape.”
Dru has been in personal contact with some of Armie’s accusers. She writes, “I have met two of the three young women who came out against Armie. Both were beautiful and wanted more than Armie could offer at the time. They saw Armie as the man of their dreams. Armie saw them as the woman of their dreams. As a mother, I am heartbroken for all involved. God’s promise that the two would become one was not part of this equation.”
Despite all the allegations, Jrue wanted to be a “protective mom” but chose to remain silent. She explained, “It just wasn’t right for me to defend Armie, even though I fought the urge with every fiber of my being. I prayed and grieved for my son and everyone involved. And I prayed some more.”
Drew also shared her thoughts about Elizabeth, who was married to Armie for nearly 10 years.
“Outliers PodcastJrue revealed that she has forgiven Elizabeth, telling host Lauren Conlin, “I spoke to Elizabeth on the phone and I said, ‘Look, the divorce is over. For me, the past is the past. I love you and I forgive you for anything that may have hurt Armie because it hurt you.'”
She added: “‘I understand. I’ve been through the same thing. Please forgive me if I’ve done anything to hurt you.'”
In response to Jrue’s comments on the podcast, a source said: Said According to Page Six, Chambers has not done anything to “harm or harm” Armie.
Earlier this month, Armie opened up about his addiction to drugs, alcohol and women.
Despite his “career-ending” experience, Hammer insists he’s in a better place.
